More about Stop-It
This programme speaks to all sports and life: at any time in play, participants may go to ground and need to recover, realign and continue in spite of the aggressor/opposition’s desire to “win”.
Stop-It develops aspects of self-control, physical agility, heightened sensory reactiveness, and complex multi-tasking responses such as mirroring others’ actions and defending oneself from attack, refraining from unnecessary contact. Learners are taught how to use sports-like activities to develop these skills. These skills have application in multiple spheres of life, especially in competitive sports and any situation which may oppress, victimize, hurt or bully the child.
