More about Chicago Red Stars Charitable Foundation
The Chicago Red Stars Charitable Foundation is the non-profit charitable arm of the Chicago Red Stars that provides opportunities that benefit girls and women through educational, recreational, health and environmental initiatives focusing in the Chicagoland area. The Chicago Red Stars use sport as a platform to give back to the community.
The community relations department works in conjunction with community partners such as Girls in the Game, Green Laces, and Special Olympics. Through these partnerships, the Red Stars allow organizations to use games as in-stadium awareness campaigns. Since its inception, the Red Stars have been committed to being the “Community’s Team.” While heading into its 2nd season, the team is looking for new ways to become more involved in Chicagoland area communities.
To help with this initiative, the Red Stars have created the “Healthy Lifestyle School Assembly and Clinic” program. With this program Red Stars work with schools to schedule a free “Healthy Lifestyle” assembly. Schools are given the option to “opt-in” for clinics which include instruction by a Red Stars player, clinic certificate, and Red Stars game ticket. The Red Stars’ approach to sport uplifts the female and youth community in a sphere often dominated by males.
