More about Chicago Bears and Bears Care
As one of the founding members of the National Football League, the Chicago Bears have been at the heart of the Chicagoland community for over 85 years. Providing support for the community and its residents has always been a fundamental element of the organization’s guiding principles. The Community Relations department and Bears Care, the team’s charitable beneficiary, jointly serve as an important connection between the Bears and the Chicagoland community.
Through its Community Relations department, the Bears organization implements and supports myriad outreach programs, which are focused primarily in the areas of education, health and fitness, youth football, and volunteerism and civic involvement. These programs reach and positively impact thousands of individuals, children and families each year.
Through various community initiatives, Bears players personally interact with deserving individuals by serving as mentors, teachers and advocates. Bears Care has a long-standing history of supporting numerous charities by providing much needed funding for targeted education and youth athletics programs. Additionally, much of Bears Care support is directed to medical research and health awareness programs focusing on breast and ovarian cancer. Since its inception in 1995, Bears Care has donated over $15M in grants to more than 100 different charitable agencies throughout Chicagoland.
