More about The Hunslet Club Space for Sport
The club is based at the centre of Hunslet which is within one of the areas of highest deprivation in the country and is ranked as Leeds’ most deprived ward. Our sports facilities include a boxing gym, sports hall, playing field as well as two 3G sports pitches and a MUGA provided by the Barclays Spaces for Sports Programme as a flagship community partnership with Leeds United Football in the Community Programme. By day we work with 14 to 16 year olds, usually with challenging behavioural issues and from deprived backgrounds, referred from schools who attain a range of sports and healthy living focussed vocational qualifications.
On evenings and weekends we coach young people from a wide range of cultures and backgrounds across the community to achieve success in football, boxing and gymnastics. We also provide a low cost fitness gym suite and fitness sessions for adults on low incomes from across the area.
