More about Student Athlete Community Center
Founded in 1992, Love To Serve, Inc. (LTS) was organized to use tennis as a hook to provide athletic and educational programs to urban youth of all backgrounds. Crime, violence and gang activity plague many of Chicago’s urban communities. Gang turf battles, youth violence and reduced funding for after-school programs leave some teens victims, and in many cases criminals in what some would consider Chicago’s war zoned communities.
LTS program participants come from many of these affected areas. Chicago ranks among the top cities with alarming levels of violence claiming the lives of youth. LTS recognized the need for a program that would provide access to the non-traditional sport of tennis, particularly for underserved youth in Chicago. Our goal was to establish a program that would keep impressionable urban youth off the streets by creating an arena for them to participate in structured tennis and academic programs after-school, weekends and throughout the summer.
The LTS project provides tennis and educational programs for student athletes; develops community partnerships to maximize the delivery of programs and services throughout Chicago. Through hard work, dedication and the development of strategic partnerships, LTS has become a nationally recognized organization serving thousands of student athletes annually.
