More about Strength-ening Youth-to-Youth model clubs, an Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health Project in Ethiopia
DSW trains young people as peer educators, who then pass on their knowledge to their peers and act as role models. In order to reach as many young people as possible, DSW supports the establishment of youth clubs. There the adolescents receive information on sexuality and contraception and they also have the opportunity to play an active role themselves: as peer educators, as club leaders or in sport competition, music and theatre groups. The sport competition event organized by youth clubs attract many young people to come together. During such gathering club members dissiminate information on reproductive health and sexuality education. Sport is found to be a powerful tool to reach youth and to bring behavioral change.
