More about Street Football

Street League uses the incredible power of football to change lives, helping the most disadvantaged young people in the UK to make positive steps towards securing jobs or going back into education/training. Football is our successful tool which underpins every area of our model- engagement activities through to education and employability courses and monitoring of sustained outcomes.

A third of 16-19 year olds in mainstream education drop out. This is Street League’s target group- those who have been failed by the system, have barriers to learning and low expectations for the future. NEET individuals can turn up and play in weekly football sessions, have fun, develop soft skills around team work, confidence and commitment, all run by our FA qualified coaching staff. Once engaged we then discuss future aspirations, complete Individual Learning Plans and offer progression routes onto our 8 week education and training “Academies” held at football club venues. Football continues to be used through the programme timetable to maintain motivation and focus.

Once an outcome has been achieved participants are invited to participate in an evening “Graduate” league where peer support can be gained and Street League “progressions” staff can track and support sustainment of outcomes.
