More about Sports for Underprivileged
Since more than 8 years, the Garuda Sports Club has been organizing football for the underprivileged children of Kathmandu valley. The organization has rented 3 grounds within Kathmandu valley to promote football to the deprived children. We have been providing football training at respective grounds and have been providing sporting equipment to the children such as jersey, shorts, football shoes, socks, footballs etc. We organize coaches’ training for young Nepalese football coaches to become better trainer. We train especially young girls & boys between 8 to 16 years twice a week on Saturdays and Sundays.
We have been organizing friendly football matches amongst different children homes while the senior boys participate in local and national level football tournament. Once a year, we also organize a tournament ‘Garuda Football Cup’ for boys and girls, a grand sports day amongst children homes and shelters in Kathmandu which gathers around 300 disadvantaged children to participate.
