More about SportInspired Games
We work in disadvantaged communities across the UK to build activity levels, confidence and life-skills and bring people together.
Across the UK, communities are afflicted by the effects of deprivation, obesity and/or inactivity :
• Nearly one in four Britons are obese – this trend starts early, 9% of children start primary education obese, growing to 18% by the time they leave. This is more prevalent in communities of socio-economic disad-vantage.
• 80% of young people in troubled families, responsi-ble for most anti-social behavior, say that “they have nothing better to do”, “they don’t know any better” and “they don’t feel a connection to others”.
Sport is a successful means of bringing people together. Sport has the power to make the most reserved children into powerful leaders, the most disengaged into strong communicators and the most apathetic into pro-active team members. We strongly believe there is a sport out there for everyone, however strongly they may have previously believed that they are 'not sporty' and SportInspired Games are a powerful to help children across the country find that sport.
