More about Soccer to promote healthy life style and build social life skills

Football like no other sport has the power to unite people and cultures all over the world. It enjoys enormous popularity, which makes the game in all its varieties an excellent means to reach masses of young people. As a team sport it promotes fairness and tolerance, fosters mutual understanding and contributes to the positive development of personality and character.

The prospect of the first FIFA World Cup ever to be staged on the African continent in 2010 fills many Africans with a great feeling of pride. This has led to football taking on a new standing. People all over Africa will proudly take part in the game. ‘Youth Development through Football' taps into this spirit. The project focuses on the social dimension of the game, empowering girls and boys to improve their future prospects. To reach out and identify deeper the problems faced by the children of Uganda (drugs, violence, delinquency or sexual activities, reduce school dropout rates).

  • Strengthen their extra-curricular activities.
  • Teach more soccer skills to the children, team work, discipline and organization
  • To develop an all-round sport activity for the child
  • To learn skills and substantial time away from "negative recreation" (drugs, violence, delinquency or sexual activities)
