The State Secretariat for Tourism and Sports of Minas Gerais has projects which promotes the sport in its three dimensions: educational, high performance and participation.
In the educational sportive area, the Secretariat creates opportunities for the adequate process of sport initiation of children and teenagers, contributing to their general formation and giving them the chance to be relevant figures in their communities.
In the sphere of high performance sport, it is performed and encouraged the participation of athletes in competitions, from the sports initiation to the elite, beyond the investment in adequate infrastructure for the practice of high performance athletes sports.
Regarding to the sport of participation, the Secretariat foments guided physical and leisure activities, in order to contribute for the improvement of the quality of life and for the adoption of healthier lifestyle, decreasing the sedentary routine of the population of Minas Gerais and enhancing their health indicators.
