More about Watford FC Social Inclusion Projects
Watford FC’s Community Sports and Education Trust delivers a comprehensive social inclusion programme which uses sport as a delivery mechanism to combat social issues on a regional basis, this includes the delivery of variety of sporting activities (football, rugby, basketball, golf, hockey and athletic) across six local authorities areas within Hertfordshire and the North London Area.
This social inclusion provision has the primary objective of reducing anti-social behaviour and youth crime, reducing the risk of young people becoming involved in guns, gang and knife crime, improving community cohesion, encourage inter cultural dialogue and encouraging good citizenship. Sport is a powerful method for combating social issues and can effectively engage young people into positive activity. This then allows us to work with the young people of specific issues i.e. educational activities linked to improving their attainment level, sexual health workshops, the danger of carrying knives and personal safety which in turn provides excellent outcomes for all partners and the community
