More about The Supporters Club
The Supporters Club was created in 2013 with the launch of BT Sport. BT’s commitment to use the power of communications to build a better world lies at the heart of what they do and The Supporters Club was created to use sport in a similar way. The rationale to customers was clear – BT Sport was giving them access to great sport for free, all they asked for in return was a nominal monthly donation.
When consumers sign up to BT Sport, they are given the option of also giving a monthly donation of £1, £3 or £5. This money goes to Comic Relief who uses their expertise in grant making to fund projects that use sport to build a better world.
Alongside funding projects of this ilk, BT Sport is committed to telling the stories of the good work that is happening. This is done by using BT Sport’s production capabilities to create films which are shown on the channel, helping promote and showcase not only the recipients of the grants, but also the wider sport for change sector.
