More about The It's a Penalty Campaign
The It's a Penalty Campaign harnesses the power of sport to prevent the exploitation and abuse of children both online and offline globally, positioning major sporting events as platforms for positive change.
Taking place around events such as the Olympics & Paralympics and the World Cup (football), It’s a Penalty is the global movement to end child exploitation and abuse that brings together all those involved in major sporting events: the biggest names in sport, international airlines, hotels, governing sporting bodies, corporations, local and international NGOs, law enforcement agencies, governments and the general public.
The campaign taps into the positive force of major global sporting events and the power they have to bring people together. In order to make a difference in the lives of children worldwide, It’s a Penalty RAISES AWARENESS and EDUCATES about child exploitation and abuse, and the penalties for offenders, ENCOURAGES sporting fans, tourists, local residents and the general public that ‘if you see something, say something!’, and EQUIPS and EMPOWERS them with the necessary tools to report a crime against both online and offline.
