More about Table Tennis for NepALL
“Table Tennis for NepALL” is a motivating sample project that aims to develop the practice of Table Tennis among people with a disability in Nepal, following ITTF’s motto that Table Tennis is not only a matter of competition: it is also a vehicle for positive social change, a healthy worthwhile use of leisure time and an opportunity to bring people together, an excellent tool for social inclusion & social cohesion.
The project addresses mainly people with a disability in Nepal; a country with real economic needs, which can’t get to work on such a project on its own. People with a disability are discriminated, isolated and stigmatized, especially in the inland. Following WHO estimations, 10% or more of all Nepalese has a disability.
Table Tennis can be played by everyone. It requires a minimum of equipment and is easily adapted to any social settings.
TT4NepALL takes children out of their homes encouraging them to show others that they can play sports.
