More about Science of Triathlon

Gender equality and opportunity is not only a fundamental human right, but a necessary foundation for a peaceful, prosperous and sustainable world. Providing women and girls with equal access to education fuels sustainable economies and benefit societies and humanity at large.
Data shows that girls around the world, and certainly in the US, lag behind boys in math and science, but it’s not aptitude that is the key issue. Aptitude knows no gender. Alas, confidence does. The strong relationship among self-beliefs, gender and performance in mathematics and science hints that countries may be unable to develop a sufficient number of individuals with strong mathematics and science skills because of girls’ lack of confidence in their abilities.
The problem is that we can keep introducing STEM into our schools, but unless we empower our girls to believe in themselves, they will not reap the benefits of these programs at the same rate that their male peers will.
