George Monbiot, British writer and political activist, once stated that "a community not built around children is no community at all. A place that functions socially is one in which they are drawn to play outdoors".
Kids throughout the world lack safe spaces to play. Without them, they risk themselves dribbling barefoot in trash dumps or passing the ball between cars in busy streets. We believe a safe space is a platform for youth to develop critical social and individual skills to promote collective well being and lead healthier lives from an early age.
love.fútbol created a community empowerment methodology that provides the framework for local leaders to step up, take ownership over the development of their community, and create a safe space to play. We provide raw material and technical guidance, while the local leaders contribute tools, ideas and labor to make the football pitch a reality.
Raised by the passion of a community, a field is more than just infrastructure, it's a platform for long-term change. It lays a physical foundation for play and a social foundation for future growth, creating a network that continues to evolve and develop the community long after the c
