More about Everton Free School
Everton Free School (EFS) has been open for six years and in that time, has educated hundreds of young people. Most have attended numerous schools and other settings before arriving at Everton Free School. Statistically 26% of young people who are excluded and educated in alternative provision (AP) sector become NEET, our figure is 6% and is still one we wish to drive down.
EFS aims to re-engage these young people back into their education through the power of sport and improve their economic and social well-being going forward. When students re-engage with sport and schooling they become open to conversations around mental health, diet and fitness and are open to discussions around improving life styles. A pathway is identified for each student and work placements arranged to allow students to experience working life.
Sport is a mechanism for re-engaging young people through individual sports such as boxing and team sports such as football. We endeavour to find a sport that each student can participate in and enjoy. Having the backing of a Premiership football club is something students value and they are proud to wear the badge and feel part of the Everton family.
