More about RUN- Running and hiking to heal
RUN uses sports as a rehabilitation tool for particularly vulnerable refugees and asylum seekers, with a special focus on women. With sports as linchpin, RUN helps the most vulnerable refugees and asylum seekers to rebuild their mental and physical strength and creates a supportive and safe environment in which they can recover from past traumas, build a community and improve their skills for a more hopeful future. Its Running and Hiking to Heal project provides all-female weekly hiking sessions and mixed gender weekly track training sessions to refugees and asylum seekers, supported by professional coaches, psychologists and volunteers from the Hong Kong community. The sports activities RUN provides form an important part of its holistic approach to physical and mental rehabilitation from trauma.
