More about Rookie Rugby, Rugby for All, and Better Coaches, Better Players, Better Rugby
Rookie Rugby is the National Governing Body for the sport of rugby in the United States. With a vision of reaching every American in order to inspire them through sport, USA Rugby is dedicated to the creation of best practices and resources that serve as educational elements. Some of these initiatives include Rookie Rugby, the safe, non-contact version of the game aimed at introducing children of all ages to rugby. This anti-obesity initiative has been taking schools and communities by storm since its implementation in 2008. Rookie Rugby is the first step in the Rugby for All Continuum, which offers an option for any age player.
USA Rugby believes that rugby is not only a sport for all ages, genders, body types, and abilities, but also a lifetime sport that one can forever be involved. USA Rugby is dedicated to the education of not only players, but coaches and referees as well. It is believed that Better Coaches make Better Players and ultimately Better Rugby will be seen. As the newest Olympic sport, USA Rugby strives for overall education and inspiration.
