More about R u leading2change?

R.U. leading2change engages at risk and hard to reach young people. The first part of the programme involves young people embarking upon a journey of personal development and discovery through rugby based activities which enables them to build social, emotional, life and leadership skills. During second part of the programme the young people then become volunteers and engage others in grass roots community rugby projects and programs.

Participants are supported through personal action plans, mentoring and have the opportunity to gain awards, accreditation, qualifactions and work experience. In 2010 England hosts the womens rugby world cup and we are undertaking a massive project that involves disengaged young people becoming ambassadors for the world cup, alongside England team members the ambassadors will work to promote and encourage participation in rugby through school and community road shows and will run a series of 'tagtastic' grass roots community tasters and tournaments, the ambassadors will then go on to volunteer at the world cup final.

Youth Discovery Ventures work with the RFU and RFUW to deliver this programme and are currently working on forming further partnerships with pro active london, other sporting governing bodies and a number of other potential stakeholders.
