More about Project KHEL
Though educational enrollment levels have increased in recent years, the quality of education for underprivileged remains dismal. Parents, too, have been unable to provide adequate grooming time or be good role models to their children.
With the intention of providing holistic education and breaking the spiral of anti-social engagements, Project KHEL uses a sports and play based Life Skill Education programme for underprivileged adolescents that taps their repressed energy to bring positive personal and social outcomes in order to develop them into agents of change within their communities.
Project KHEL's sport and play-based Life Skills education based programme, ‘Made in Maidaan’, harnesses the ‘Power of Play,’ to create safe learning spaces and implement holistic, interactive and experiential learning methods through sports.
Each play-based session is followed by reflection and discussions in the real life context to ensure maximum takeaway. To complement the life skills education, we also facilitate theme based workshops to inform adolescents about crucial issues they face, such as personal hygiene, civic-responsibility and substance abuse.
