More about P.L.A.Y.S. (Participate, Learn, Achieve, Youth, Soccer) Program
Within Chicago Public Schools, 40% drop out at a rate of nearly 70 students per day and fewer than 70% graduate high school. For students in low-income neighborhoods, challenges extend beyond academics. They face threats of violence, crime, drug use and dropouts are eight times more likely to end up in prison.
As the school board continues to reduce funding to after-school programming, the Chicago Fire Foundation’s P.L.A.Y.S. (Participate, Learn, Achieve, Youth, Soccer) Program fills this gap by providing students a safe, positive, healthy, and academically beneficial free after-school program to equip them with the tools they need for future success in life.
