We operate in disadvantaged communities with high rates of youth unemployment, addiction, (sexual) violence, crime, abortion, child abuse, teen pregnancy, alcoholism and poverty and malnutrition. The communities have numerous health issues, including communicable as well as chronic diseases of lifestyle that are emerging as key global health issues, impacting the socio-economic progress particularly in developing countries.
Play for Fun, Learn for Life designs the use of football/soccer within its curriculum to achieve comprehensive benefits that impact the lives of individuals and the environment of their community. It provides a year-round educational programme, the holistic programme goes beyond the game, weaving physical, health and social skills into a fun, activity-based curriculum. The program begins with young children ages 5-15, girls and boys – to give them the earliest possible access to skills they need to lead healthy, productive lives.The organization recruits and trains vulnerable youth to teach our programme, helping build their skills and community leadership for the future.
