More about Pass It Back
Pass It Back responds to the unique and rapidly changing context of South-East Asia as ASEAN integration becomes a reality. It also seeks to address the high rates of gender based violence (GBV) and gender inequality in the region.
The project includes a focus on: Gender and GBV – designed to start a conversation in communities about GBV, equipping young men and women with the knowledge, skills and behaviours to tackle GBV; Economic empowerment – specifically financial literacy and future planning for young people; and Leadership – built into the project at all levels as leaders “pass it back” to support peers in their communities. A unique curriculum has been developed that integrates rugby-based activities with a range of different life-skills to address these priority areas.
A formal evaluation of its pilot project and a research focusing on female leadership, provided key learning to support the development of Pass It Back, along with broader learning from other programmatic interventions led by ChildFund in both Laos and Vietnam.
