More about National Alliance of Sport for the Desistance of Crime
The National Alliance of Sport for the Desistance of Crime enables people and groups to use the power of sport to prevent offending and rehabilitate offenders across England and Wales.
We do this by providing support and guidance, advocating on behalf of the sector and evidencing the impact and value of sport. As a result, we strive for a more collaborative, skilled and sustainable sector and enable people to live crime free lives.
Through the alliance we support our members who are people and groups using the power of sport to inspire positive change and achievement in those who are considered to be the most dis-engaged, and who according to national statistics are most likely to offend.
Our members work across the following areas:
• Prevention and early intervention
• Community sentences
• Custodial sentences
• Resettlement and services for people leaving prison
Our members range from government departments in criminal justice and health, academia, the private sector to the sport for development and third sector.
United we transform the lives of people most in need of a second chance using the power of sport.
