More about MLSE LaunchPad
MLSE LaunchPad is a 42,000-sq ft Sport For Development facility built to provide sport and life skills programming for youth facing barriers. Existing research suggests that sport has an overwhelmingly positive impact on youth, while simultaneously decreasing instances of negative behavior. MLSE LaunchPad programming is built around Sport For Development; the intentional use of sport and physical activity to build healthy communities and help youth reach their potential. Having seen first-hand the power of collaboration to improve social outcomes, integrated service delivery has become a core component of our strategic vision. Bringing together researchers, practitioners, academics, international bodies, community members and a wide range of non-profit organizations, MLSE LaunchPad serves as a collaborative incubator dedicated to advancing the use of sport for development purposes. MLSE LaunchPad removes barriers to sport opportunities for youth and focuses on addressing the needs of this demographic through intentionally designed sport programs with the power to build leadership and self-esteem in youth and enhance their physical and emotional health.
