Mbarara Sports Academy is a community focussed initiative that uses football as to increase the number of school going children in Mbarara District.
Many kids in my community missed out school because they were coming from very poor backgrounds while others were orphaned by the HIV/AIDS scourge. Staying without their parents meant they would miss basic needs;one of them education. This prompted me to start Mbarara Sports Academy with the aim of involving the young people into sports activities to find those who were vulnerable and then identify schools that would give them sports scholarships so that they can get an education. The reason we have also started the 'Mbarara Sports Academy School Building Project' in Mbarara.
