More about La Nuestra Futbol Femenino
La Nuestra Futbol Femenino is a not for profit that works in the Buenos Aires disadvantaged community of Padre Carlos Mugica- Villa 31 de la CABA aimed at empowering women through sport and challenged stereotypes around gender roles.
Since 2007 that football trainings for women and girls are held in the community combined with workshops and collective thinking sessions on gender-based discrimination, gender-based violence, empowerment and women’s rights.
Football has made it possible to bring back sport to women and girls in these communities, offering them the right to play, spaces to socialise and learn new skills/values, and the opportunity to take ownership over their bodies – empowerment.
We work with local, national and international organisations and networks to advance and advocate for women’s rights through sport and promote women’s football as a tool for personal and collective development.
In November 2016, we organised the first football festival for women's football in the region, bringing together participants from across the region and Europe in a unique movement.
Since 2007, about 500 girls have participated and benefited from our project.
