More about Jets Tackle Bullying
In 2015, the New York Jets and its foundation launched the Jets Tackle Bullying platform. We partnered with the national recognized anti-bullying agency, STOMP Out Bullying. Through this partnership and initiative we have used our resources and celebrity in an effort to reduce the instances of bullying. Through school visits, television and radio public service announcements, billboards and team social media channels featuring our players and brand we have reached countless students and parents in the tri-state area and around the country. Often athletes are seen as leaders in schools and universities they play for. They set norms for what is acceptable and tolerated behavior. Through direct contact with students at school visits and branding efforts through public service announcements and media purchases we bring attention to a growing issue for today's youth. The stories our players have shared with students and through the media shape the way children view them and how they should ultimately carry themselves. We have had stories emerge from players on our team that show bullying from different viewpoints and have impacted the students we have addressed.
