More about Inclusive Sports Festival for Disable Women

A Woman with disability always faces a double discrimination of being woman and disability in one. She is perceived nothing than a burden of the family and most of her basic human rights including her right to sports are being abducted by both the family and the society. Even while male with disability play, female with disability do not have any option rather than to cheer up to the playing boys. This is obvious in a context when mainstream woman sports are not getting appreciable public attention in comparison to mainstream male sports. Thus, girls with disabilities are found to be physically weak, mentally fragile and socially awkward. Most of the girls with disabilities in Nepal do not have heard about sports and they even do not have any confidence that they can play. Hence, inclusive sports for women with disabilities helps in making people understand that sports is not about male or female thing , it’s about skill thing and anyone should get an opportunity to depict their skills despite of their gender. Involvement of girls with disabilities in sports also makes them feel them equal before men, forget their gender and disability and perform best on their capacity.
