More about i-tri: Transformation through Triathlon
i-tri uses the sport of triathlon and the power of team-building and relationship building to protect middle school age girls from damaging life choices.
i-tri is an athletic program FOR GIRLS with a program we developed that speaks TO GIRLS.
While boys are often motivated to play team sports because of the “competition” and the urge to “win,” girls are more motivated to go out for a sport because of the comradery and shared experience. Over and over we hear how despite triathlon being an individual sport, our girls feel like a team, offering the support, love and friendship that comes along with that.
Perseverance, Resilience, Camaraderie and Leadership is at the CORE of what we do. Through the sport of triathlon, our girls are taught to set their own goals, but to support one another as each girl works towards her goals. Throughout the program they come to see that they are a community of strong young women who can work together to build success.
