More about Hope and Health at Home "H3"
The primary target audience of Hope & Health is Indigenous children and youth, whom are the most vulnerable members of Canadian society, overrepresented in foster care, at higher risk for suicide, addiction and domestic violence. These are symptoms of complex trauma that is multigenerational in nature, due to the history and effects of colonization and the residential school system.
Hope and Health at Home “H3” uses soccer to develop life and leadership skills and empowers Indigenous children and youth to recognize their limitless potential, on and off the pitch, in order to establish new patterns, centered around physical, social, emotional/mental and spiritual well being for themselves and their communities. We use the term “home” with purpose as it represents the very critical component for the program to be community/nation based and coaching kids on THEIR home turf.
