Crossover impacts gender equity and education through the use of basketball as a vehicle of change. As a non-popular sport, basketball allows an even playing field as girls and boys are new to the sport and are not able to exclude others. And by engaging US student-athletes as volunteers and role models, students are able to witness the transformational power of sport as a level playing field.
