GOALS challenges gender stereotypes in Armenia using sport as a vehicle for social change. By utilizing sport for social impact curriculum we promote safe spaces for Armenian men and women to hold discussions regarding traditional mindsets that often limit women. Armenian women are the most educated members of society, however, societal pressures confine them to the roles of mother and housewife. GOALS' mission is to empower Armenian women through sport, giving them the confidence and life skills necessary to challenge these gender roles. Our programming includes the following: training educators and social activists in sport for social impact curriculum, establishing co-ed youth groups that challenge societal issues through sport, founding and managing the only girls' soccer leagues in Armenia to empower young women, managing the only girls' soccer empowerment camps nationally.
