At Fútbol Más we focus on a series of social problems that are caused by the root-problems of humanity: poverty and inequality. These two situations have caused the existence of vulnerable neighborhoods where people have fewer options in life than in ´favored´ ones, while living in a context of social risk factors that make it implausible to leave their current situation and enjoy life. This has lead to situations where the fundamental rights of children are least respected and enforced.
It is here that we work for three years intensively, after which the neighborhood takes charge of the program (!). This all in order to make the children more resilient to their surroundings and to increase their social capital. Our methodology has three central work lines:
1. Daily biopsychosocial football classes based on a concepts of resilience. Relationships, positive reinforcement through green cards (Futbol Mas´ innovative central instrument), participation and opinion of the children all are central.
2. Positive parenting. Workshops and the active and positive participation of the parents.
3. Creating social capital in order to create a resilience enabling environment. We do this through t
