More about Football Federation Victoria
Football Federation Victoria (FFV) is responsible for the administration of competitions, programs, events, and support services which cater for our multicultural community. In 2012, 80,000 players, coaches, referees, and administrators participated in FFV competitions and programs. Participants represent over 60 countries, highlighting the diversity of the state. FFV’s multi-stakeholder initiative, ‘United Through Football’, ensures accessibility to the game and provides opportunities for the growing number of new and emerging communities settling in Victoria. Football is the sport of first choice and has a long history of assisting with settlement.
The ‘United Through Football’ initiative adopts a suite of multi-faceted education and engagement activities to create social cohesion using our core values of unity, pride, respect, integrity, openness and performance to build community capacity within the game. Supported by broadcast and corporate sponsorship, as well as government, community partners, membership funds, and commercial projects, FFV invests approximately $9 million dollars into community football each year. Led by FFV, the games large community taskforce draws on the power of football to address social youth issues of drug use, violence and anti-social behaviour and aims to keep youth engaged in school and out of trouble with the law.
