Football 4 WASH is a program geared at using the vibrant potential of football as a sport to teach communities about the ideals of clean water, sanitation and general hygiene. The program includes using exciting football drills to teach children, teachers and general community about Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH). The drills are created by Watoto Wasoka and the program is supported by Viva con Agua and the WASH implementing partner Welthungerhilfe.
The program trains pupils and teachers in how they can use football drills to learn and teach about varied WASH issues including one drill on Toilet hygiene, Risky behaviour, True/False, Communication, Protect the water source, WASH Sequence, Germ in the middle among others.
