More about FlintNOW
FlintNOW is a $10 million private sector campaign founded by Detroit Pistons owner Tom Gores to provide immediate relief efforts in response to the unfolding Flint, Michigan water crisis and cultivate long-term programs focused on economic development, nutrition and health care for residents of the city.
The goal is to use basketball, the Detroit Pistons, NBA and NBA Players Association to help drive awareness and provide support for the recover of citizens in Flint.
FlintNOW's mission is guided by three core priorities:
1. Provide immediate support for short-term relief efforts to ensure access to safe drinking water and infrastructure associated with volunteer programs, distribution of resources and other logistics.
2. Provide funding for programs that help children, including healthy food and nutrition campaigns, as well as education and healthcare initiatives.
3. Establish long-term support for economic development and revitalization in Flint and surrounding communities.
