More about Education With A Kick
The Football Programme is aimed towards ages 5-22 and youth living in slums. In Mumbai over nine million people live in slums and for the disadvantaged children living in those conditions daily life can be grim. Children start their lives on poverty’s front lines; they are thrust prematurely into adult responsibilities without access to education, infrastructure or sanitation. They are subject to hunger, disease, and child labour. Education is a key factor to reducing and preventing these outcomes.
The OSCAR Foundation uses football as a tool to encourage children to be regular in school and complete their education. It aims to teach disadvantaged children and young people how to overcome these social issues and help them gain positive values through life skills sessions alongside both personal and professional development.
