More about Education and Employment
Fundación Adsis has been working for over 20 years with at risk youth. Our educational and employment projects uses sports as a relevant skill to achieve social transformation empowering youth to gain transversal competences.
We run these projects to achieve several goals: lower high school dropout rates, guide young people who have already dropout so they can find a passion and the motivation to go back to study with a clear career path and we also offer professional training in different areas, to help them ensure access to a decent and qualified job.
First, sport activities work as a starting point to initiate contact and build a relationship with young people living in the neighborhoods where we work. These kids spend a lot of their time in the streets, exposed to risk situations, and they can be hard to reach but sports open a door for us to work together.
Then, we continue to use sports through our projects, as a tool to work cross-disciplinary skills such as commitment, responsibility and teamwork. Sports make possible to talk about -and work around- difficult issues of the daily life of our beneficiaries.
