More about Developing young people through sports, life skills and leadership training
The overall goal and purpose of the program is to provide and increase access to sports opportunities to youth and children and to use sports to address key social issues affecting young people i.e. HIV/AIDS, Environment, Rape, Teenage pregnancy, unemployment e.t.c.
The program initially focuses on team sports as a main objective to promote teamwork among youth both on and off the field. Team sports also involve a larger number of youth at lower costs for equipment and infrastructure. The most popular team sports among the youth in Kigali are football, basketball and volleyball. The sports activities are organized for boys and girls and life skills, HIV/AIDS information, drugs and alcohol are directly integrated into sports, though the primary vehicle is football.
