More about Desporto Infanto Juvenil (Child-Youth Sport)
The CMA works with 10 schools in the Manhica District, in practical sports activities for boys and girls, to prevent and address the most severe violations of children rights by parents, guardians and teachers, such as forced child labor, sexual abuse and physical aggression. For identification of this type of problems, CMA uses the mechanism of activities selection in coordination with local authorities, for data collection and information dissemination. Through the coordination of CMA with local authorities and schools, it was possible to identify in each school, 20 children to practice youth football, using competition tournament between schools.
For each soccer game, mobilization is done for the local authorities, parents and for the community, so that they can participate on the quick brief lecture of about 15 to 20 minutes before the soccer competition involving the two school teams. During the games, the activists go around the audience to explain the rights of the children, while posters and fixed signs are exposed in the venue, and pamphlets, t-shirts and caps with educative sentences about the topic are distributed.
