Derby County Football Club engages diverse people, raises hope and aspirations. It uses the credibility of its brand to improve the lives of the people in Derbyshire through participation in sport. The scheme engages with over 22,500 children, young people and adults annually with its wide range of programmes. The club is committed to responding to local need and recognises its prominent role in addressing major issues such as childhood obesity, community cohesion, health inequalities, unemployment, social exclusion and educational attainment. In placing Derby County Football Club at the heart of the community, it aims to:
- Increase participation in sport and physical activity
- Promote wellbeing and healthy lifestyles within local communities
- Deliver an inclusive programme of activities that involves and engages hard to reach groups
- Improving community cohesion
- Develop and empower leaders, coaches and volunteers
- Engage and inspire young people, raising and celebrating educational achievement
