More about Coach Core
Coach Core (CC) tackles issues identified in the CSJ report. Their Royal Highnessess have a strong interest in grass-roots sport and strongly believe in its positive impact. As a result they wanted to try and tackle youth unemployment using sport.
CC also impacts on social issues including educational attainment, community engagement and health and well-being. Greenhouse has partnered with The Royal Foundation to pilot CC in London and has recruited those living in London’s poorest boroughs typified by high rates of poverty, crime, unemployment, obesity and low educational achievement. CC targets young people engaged in sport who are at risk of becoming NEETS (not in education, employment or training). It tackles this issue by employing them as paid apprentices providing them with an SASE approved ‘Aprrenticeship in Activity Leadership Level 2 qualification and training from a first class training provider. Greenhouse employs coaches who are highly skilled in their sport and are effective mentors.
CC is training a new generation of coaches to become mentors and inspirational role models . They’ll improve young peoples’ attendance, behaviour and discipline leading to better school grades whilst helping them to become healthier and avoid negative influences such as crime and other anti-social behaviour.
