More about Cities for Peace
We are living in a world that has never been so connected and yet has seldom felt so divided. Fear of different cultures, race, customs and beliefs have led to increased misunderstanding and isolation, leaving communities disenfranchised, and facing preconceptions and negative stereotyping.
The communities we work within in are becoming more polarised, socially isolated and segregated, feeling targeted and demonised, thus creating further division, hostility and suspicion leading to the stereotyping of those communities. This can then become a breeding ground for populism, fueling Islamophobia, anti-Semitism, xenophobia, homophobia and all forms of bigotry, discrimination, racism and hate crime with the rise in attacks on minority ethnic communities increasing weekly, providing the ideal conditions and breeding grounds for violent and destructive extremist ideologies to propagate and prosper.
Our Youth Leadership training program challenges and changes negative mindsets, opening their minds to becoming more excepting of others whom are simply different from them by virtue of their race, colour, faith, gender or other characteristic. The program brings about greater mutual understanding, dialogue, community cohesion and integration, using the medium of football and our bespoke Youth Ambassador Leadership training and educational program promoting trust, understanding and tolerance.
