More about Chicago Blackhawks and the Stanley Cup
When the Stanley Cup is raised at the conclusion of the Stanley Cup Finals the winning team is granted 100 days with the trophy to do whatever they would like. When the Chicago Blackhawks hoisted the trophy no one could have ever imagined the impact it could have on communities in northern Canada, inner city neighborhoods in the heart of Chicago or to a tourist standing at the base of the Eiffel Tower in France.
The Chicago Blackhawks used the Stanley Cup to touch the lives of people all over the world. The cup was used to raise funds for community centers, cancer institute’s, charity outreach programs and the game of hockey. The Blackhawks organization was told by members of the National Hockey League that the cup had never once been used for so many community initiatives in one summer in its 118 years of existence.
