Syria, Palestine and Jordan are devastated by years of ongoing war. Particularly youth still living in Syria and Palestine, and refugees in neighbouring countries, are traumatized and vulnerable. They have seen family killed, lost their homes and the routine of a normal, safe youth. Access to education and jobs is highly limited, and they lack the contacts, resources and network to make their lives more self-determined. Community structures and institutions are often destroyed. In these war zones, people are hard to reach, getting access is difficult, communications and infrastructure are limited. Building on local capacity is essential. C4R combines an innovative curriculum with brand-new technology to enable projects in the toughest and most dangerous to reach areas to take place, develop local capacity and make our work sustainable. We are one of the first organizations in the world to use a newly patented M&E App that allows data to be collected and analysed in real time. Such technology is essential to monitoring Changemakers’ activities in conflict zones like Syria and Palestine. The curriculum is uniquely designed in close cooperation with past and future Changemakers.
