The CHAMP Sport program.The future of Moutse community depends upon productive, positive, and prepared youth. Preparing today’s youth to be healthy, well-educated, involved, and capable of leadership signifies a strong and secure future. Also, addressing the root issues of the HIV and AIDS pandemic amongst youth, the program can achieve specific developmental outcomes through Asset Based Community Development (ABCD).
Thus, the CHAMP program assists by creating a positive and an enabling platform, focusing on the following;
- Promoting and developing skills and abilities to support recreation, leisure, and physical well-being
- Preparing youth for an employable future and economic success
- Personal competency skills: Self-confidence and - awareness, decision-making, self- responsibility, personal accountability for actions, selecting positive peers, and avoiding risky behaviours
- Interpersonal skills - Teamwork, leading and serving others (community service, leadership skills) and relationship and communication (communication skills, conflict management skills
- Marketable skills - career choices, planning and computer literacy
