More about CapoeirArab
The idea began last year at Tanf Refugee Camp in Syria. In the 6 months we were there, UNICEF was really impressed. A report on their website recognises the change of energy in the people and the program’s significant psycho-social benefits.
Capoeira allows children to express their anger and emotion in a safe and healthy way. People of all ages are involved; playing and singing which has a harmonising effect on the community. (It’s good that people spend more time together) We also do other activities to make our programs more varied; such as theatre, dance or other things our trainers are passionate about. (We love capoeira but you can’t play it all day) We’re focussing on programs in the Middle East this year, with deprived local communities and refugee camps.
We also hope to build a network of capoeiristas and supporters so soon we can work worldwide. As we’re a new organisation we’re looking for potential sponsors and donors or anyone who thinks they can help. Bidnacapoeira is inspired by the success of CapoeirArab program at Al Tanf refugee camp.
